Above Ground Pool Decking: Adding Beauty to Your Above Ground Pool

Available from June 12, 2008 – 6:51 pm

Above ground pool decking is a great addition to any yard with an above ground pool.  Above ground pool decking allows your friends and family to be able to bask by and walk around the pool.  Not to mention the above ground pool decking looks much better than no decking at all.

Bask in the Sun

When you have a pool in your yard, even an above ground pool, people are going to want to come over to go swimming.  More than likely, your friends and family are all going to want to come and take a dip to cool off during the hot summer months.  Above ground pool decking allows your guests a place to rest and bask in the hot sun and acts just like the surface area around an underground pool.  Many styles of decking allow for lounge chairs to be set up, towels to be laid down, or whatever your guests choose to get their suntans on.

Room to Play

Above ground pool decking also allows your guests an area to walk around the pool.  Children, especially, like to be able to run and play around the pool area.  Above ground pool decking gives them this surface area, since with decking, they can walk around and jump into the pool instead of constantly having to climb up ladders.

Looks Better

The best part of having above ground pool decking is that it is more aesthetically pleasing than if you don’t have any decking at all.  An above ground pool doesn’t look very good sitting in your yard all by itself.  Above ground pool decking provides a frame for your pool.  It can be stained and decorated how you want, and the best part is, you no longer have to worry about water soaking your lawn.  With above ground pool decking your lawn is protected; so, just add some flowers and your yard will look great for hosting any party or function.

If you have an above ground pool and want to provide a way for your guests to bask in the sun, walk around your pool, and you want to make your yard look better, your best bet is to get above ground pool decking.  Your guests will have a blast, and you will likely get many compliments on how good your yard is looking these days.

Enjoying an Ashton Cigar

Available from June 12, 2008 – 6:29 pm

The City of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is famous for many contributions to the United States and the world.  Some of these contributions include it being the site of the first Continental Congress in 1774 and it being home to the Liberty Bell. In addition to these historical facts, that are significant to the birth of the United States, there are a number of other noteworthy Philadelphia associations. Those associations include the Philadelphia Flyers, a team within the National Hockey League, the Philly cheese steak, William Penn, the architect of the city of Philadelphia and the meaning of the name of the city interpreted as brotherly love. In the cigar world, another affiliation with the city of Philadelphia is Robert Levin. Levin is the founder of the Ashton cigar company.

Background of the Ashton Cigar Company

The Ashton Cigar Company was established in 1985. This enterprise was manifested from the heart of Robert Levin who, himself, enjoyed the experience of a fine cigar.  In addition to being an aficionado of cigars, Levin was no stranger to the world of tobacco products. This combination of appreciation and business knowledge combined to form the Ashton Cigar Company. To round out the partners associated with the Ashton Cigar Company, the partnership includes the respected Fuentes family. This family has a reputation, in the cigar manufacturing world, of providing the utmost integrity when producing fine cigars. This combination has served the Ashton Cigar Company well as they are globally recognized for being a company that is associated with the production of exquisite cigars.

The popularity and quality of an Ashton cigar, like any other manufacturing company, is based upon the quality of the product and the care taken in manufacturing that product.  The quality of the Ashton cigar is reflected through the blending of various leafs that brings out the finest tastes and aromas for the cigar smoking experience. The three components to a cigar are the filler, binder and the wrapper. To distinguish the Ashton cigar the best leafs are used for the filler and binder. These unsurpassed leafs are grown in the Dominican Republic.

To complete the Ashton cigar process the cigars are wrapped with a quality tobacco leaf that is known for its rich texture and fine oily properties. This particular leaf is called the Connecticut Shade and is harvested from the rich soils of Ecuador. This combination of tobacco leafs, different climates and production from a variety of growing soils provides the perfect blend to ensure an excellent smoking opportunity. There are five unique offerings of cigars that carry the Ashton cigar label. They are the Ashton, the Cabinet Selection, the Ashton Ages Maduro, the Aston VSG and the Asthon Heritage Puro Sol.  Each of these cigars carries a taste that is unique, but guaranteed to be created with the utmost care and offered to be part of a pleasurable encounter.

Basic Baby Camping Gear Needs

Available from June 12, 2008 – 6:12 pm

Beginning with the trip home from the hospital ever parent knows that traveling anywhere with a baby requires basic necessities like a well stocked diaper bag, and some emergency items stashed in frequently traveled places like the car or grand parents houses.

Finding the right baby camping gear is no exception, a babies first camping trip will need a portable crib, a baby carrier designed to be worn on the front or like a back pack depending on the age of the baby, climate appropriate clothing as well as rain protection of some sort, sun screen, insect repellant, and a very well stocked diaper bag.

A good recipe for a well stocked diaper bag will include enough diaper changes for one day (plus extras in mom or dads gear), a sturdy changing pad, at least one change of clothes, two or three zip-top storage bags of 1 gallon size, a few toys, a few snacks(if the baby is eating solids), a full refill of wipes kept in a zip top bag (wipes are worth their weight in soap and water on the go), and any feeing needs the baby may require (pacifiers, bottles, extra formula, water).

Using Baby Camping Gear

Baby camping gear is usually inexpensive and is often extra light weight and durable for long lasting use.  An active family may be able to use the same portable crib with each child.  A portable crib is important for babies because the thick soft sleeping bags are a potential SIDS risk as are air mattresses and pillows.

An infant carrier can really make a hike more enjoyable, the parent can enjoy having their hands free while knowing exactly where their baby is and feeling their baby close to them as they travel.  The baby will also benefit from this piece of infant travel gear as the baby will get to experience the entire hike from the safety and comfort of their parent’s chest.

Climate appropriate clothing is an important part of a babies camping gear, there is nothing worse than a sick baby, having a rain coat, extra warm clothes, cool clothes and a cooling scarf or cloth are a few items that can make the elements more bearable for the smallest hiker in the family.

Baby camping gear wouldn’t be complete without all the tonic and potions that make the great out door’s less friendly residents more agreeable such as insect repellant, sun screen, and a first aid kit.  Insect repellant is tricky with infants, it’s best to spray the repellant on the parent’s hand and rub it on the babies exposed skin.

Camping is a time honored family tradition that many families begin in the early months of life with their children.  Having the right baby camping gear can make the tip more enjoyable for the entire family, making memories everyone will treasure.
